Educate yourself and your children

Experts stress the need to educate children to the dangers of drug addiction.   Talk to your children about the medication they are given, especially if it is an injury that happened while playing sports or for the removal of wisdom teeth.  Let them know that if not used properly, these medications can cause a young person to become addicted.  Your teenager may not be aware of the link between prescription drugs and heroin addiction.  Reach out to your children before they begin to experiment.
